A desperate appeal has been called off to find a 12-year-old girl reported missing after she disappeared with a man.

The pair were found on Monday morning after they were last seen at around 4pm on Sunday at a house in Deception Bay, north of Brisbane.

But the girl and the 19-year-old man were found, Queensland Police said shortly before 10am on Monday.

Queensland Police thanked members of the public for assistance in trying to track them down after releasing images of the two people.

A spokesman said: ‘The persons reported missing from Deception Bay on Sunday, April 15 have been located safe and well.

‘Police would like to thank the media and the public for their assistance.’

The force had earlier been calling for the public’s help to find them with family members believing they might have been heading for New South Wales or Toowoomba in Queensland.
