A novelty gift shop has launched its macaroni and cheese-flavoured candy canes in Australia just in time for Christmas.
The savoury canes, which have white and yellow stripes instead of the traditional red, were created by American confectioner Archie McPhee, a Seattle-based toy brand known for its weird and wonderful trinkets.
The unusual festive treats cost $11.95 for a box of six, and are available exclusively from Australian website Dick Smith, which is now 100 per cent online after closing all physical stores and being acquired by Kogan.com.

Hailed as ‘comfort food-flavoured comfort food’, each cane is just over five inches tall and promises an ‘instant’ burst of classic mac and cheese.
Michigan-based Instagram account ‘Junk Food Mom’ reviewed the product, telling followers the canes ‘smell like cheese and taste like mac ‘n cheese, but the sweetness overpowers the flavours eventually’, making them enjoyable to eat.
Others were less impressed, with one man branding the canes ‘nasty’ and saying they’ll be in his nightmares for years to come.

Meat lovers can chow down on bacon, pizza or rotisserie chicken candy canes, while those who prefer fresh greens can opt for pickle and kale.
Seafood fans can try clam flavoured canes, and there’s even a ‘fire and brimstone’ creation which packs a smoky cinnamon punch for anyone who dares to try them.
