SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Cara sports wacky accessory

Fashionistas at the Christian Dior show in Paris were scratching their heads yesterday at madcap model Cara Delevingne’s latest wacky accessory.

Society girl Cara pitched up on the front row sporting what appeared to be an other-worldly prosthetic stuck into her ear.

She also sported some of her trademark eye-catching jewellery — one was a bird attached to her upper ear and the second a black pearl earring with shamrock in her earlobe.

Earlier, joker Cara, 25, fooled around by jumping into a Dior bag, wrapping a ribbon around her neck like a scarf and adorning her pixie haircut with a visor.

Meanwhile, Poldark star Gabriella Wilde, 28, who attended the show, was delighted with her freebies from Dior at her five-star hotel, including pink roses and gift-wrapped presents, thanking the fashion giant on social media.

Hard-working Princess Anne is not handed the most glamorous engagements. Yesterday’s Court Circular solemnly records that ‘Her Royal Highness this afternoon opened the Equine Semen Centre’ in Shropshire.

Well, someone has to do it…

Bonkbuster novelist Jilly Cooper has made a new discovery — late-flowering sex appeal.

‘Isn’t Tony Blackburn gorgeous?’ the Riders author tells the Oldie magazine, referring to the legendary 75-year-old DJ. ‘The older he gets, the lovelier he gets.’ Look out!

With time plainly on their hands, MPs have formed an all-party group on cats. Known as Apgocats and led by Maria Caulfield, it proclaims: ‘This exciting new group, supported by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and Cats Protection, will help to give cats their own spotlight in Westminster and foster debate on feline welfare.’

There will surely be cuddly photo opportunities aplenty. Will Speaker Bercow sit with a white cat in his lap, Blofeld-style? How will Jacob Rees-Mogg resist joining the litter?

Food guru Ella shows off ‘scary’ new fringe

Is best-selling food writer Ella Mills, aka Deliciously Ella, now vying to become a makeover guru, too?

The 26-year-old daughter of former Labour MP Shaun Woodward and Sainsbury’s heiress Camilla went for a walk in snowy London yesterday with her dog, Austin, and showed off her new fringe.

‘Always wanted a fringe, always too scared to do it,’ she wrote online. ‘Trying to bring a sense of boldness to everything I do and lose that fear.’

No doubt her husband, Dame Tessa Jowell’s son, Matt, approves.
