And, after making his name in the X-Men film series, Hugh Jackman, 49, has worked hard to maintain his Wolverine physique.

Spotted working out on Bondi Beach recently, he revealed an enviably toned tummy which impressed onlookers.

But how does he do it? The Australian actor works out for up to three hours every day, with a morning session of running or cycling and weight training followed by high-intensity workouts.

He also practises carb cycling — eating high-carb foods on hard workout days and low-carb on easier days — to boost muscle growth.

WHAT TO TRY: Push-up jumping jacks work the arms and legs but target the abdominal muscles.

Start in a raised push-up position — face down, legs extended, hands on the floor, arms straight, weight on the balls of your feet.

Keeping your legs and body straight, jump both legs out to the sides, then back into the centre. Do three sets of ten.
