Serena Williams shares a snap of her daughter Alexis at Wimbledon

Serena Williams shared a sweet photo of her daughter checking out the practice court at Wimbledon after the pair touched down in the UK ahead of the tournament.

Williams, 36, will return to SW19 next week after taking more than a year off to have Alexis, now nine months old.

The seven-time champion was today spotted on the grass at Wimbledon for the first time since she won the women’s singles title there two years ago.

But unlike her last visit to the All England Club, this time Williams had her baby girl in tow.

Curious Alexis was snapped touching the freshly cut grass on the practice court.

She was dressed in her own adorable version of tennis whites with a white bow in her hair.

It is not known whether Ohanian, 35, and his daughter will be in the stands for his wife’s first match.

Today the sportswoman, who has 23 grand slam titles, was seen warming up for the competition with coach Patrick Mouratoglou.

Williams first won the womens’ singles in 2002, before following it up with more triumphs in 2003, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2015 and 2016.

It was at that point that she took some time out to have a baby, subsequently missing the 2017 tournament – which was won by Garbine Muguruza.

Williams is back this year and has been seeded 25th despite her lowly ranking of 183 in the WTA standings to ensure she does not meet other top players too early in the competition.

The decision recognises the fact that she missed so much tennis through giving birth in September.

She has played only three tournaments and seven matches since then.
