Serena Williams had plenty of A-list support as she lost her match against Angelique Kerber in the women’s final at Wimbledon on Saturday – less than a year after almost dying in childbirth.
The 36-year-old tennis powerhouse – who gave birth to daughter Olympia via emergency caesarean section on September 1 – was cheered on by hubby Alexis Ohanian in her seating box.
Williams failed to conquer Germany’s No 11 seed, however, losing 6-3 6-3 in the match which took an hour and five minutes.
Race car driver Lewis Hamilton was also seated in Williams’s section and was often pictured in conversation with editorial icon Anna Wintour.

The crowd were clearly wanting to see history made and any support Kerber had was subdued. And following her lost, the crowd cheered loudly for Williams.
‘It’s obviously disappointing but I can’t be disappoinited, I’m literally just getting started. I’m just me and that’s all I can be, I tried, but Angelique played really well, out of her mind, and I look forward to continuing to be out here. I’m really happy for Angelique, it’s amazing,’ said Williams.
‘It’s a dream come true, you are such an inspiration for all us, that’s amazing and I’m sure you will have your next Grand Slam title very soon, ‘ Kerber told Williams. ‘I knew I had to play my tennis. I’m the first German after Steffi to have won, that’s amazing.

Earlier in the tournament, Williams thanked Wimbledon for giving her a seed in the tournament.
The Wimbledon committee took into account the American seven-time champion’s previous achievements and seeded her 25th despite her current world ranking of 181.
Williams slipped down the rankings after taking time off to have her daughter last year, and was as low as 454 at last month’s French Open.
‘I think it would be ungrateful to say that. So not at all, in fact I was pleasantly surprised,’ she said.
‘It was a bit in the back of my mind that I would have a chance but I didn’t put too much on it. I think it’s very noble and cool.’
