Sex offender kicked out of TimeZone in Mackay

A convicted paedophile who attempted to rape a 13-year-old boy has been thrown out of a children’s gaming arcade.

Horrified parents alerted staff at TimeZone in Mackay, Queensland, when they saw 44-year-old Marcel Schauer walk into the amusement centre on Sunday.

One of the witnesses, who recognised Schauer, told the Sunshine Coast Daily security escorted him out of the arcade as he aggressively ‘told them off’.

Marcel Schauer (pictured), a convicted paedophile who attempted to rape a 13-year-old boy, has been thrown out of a children’s gaming arcade

‘[My mother and I] both saw him and realised he was walking into Time Zone. I went in to speak to the young girl at the counter and there was another man that had gone in as well to let them know,’ she told the paper.

‘She [the staff member] said they noticed straight away that he was there and called security, they showed him out and then we just saw him yelling at them and he zipped off on his bike.’

The witness said police arrived a short time later.

In 2009, Schauer took a 13-year-old boy into bushland in Queensland with the promise of a cigarette.

He forced himself on the teenager before telling him he was about to be raped.

‘Schauer used physical force to subdue the boy,’ Crown prosecutor Brendan Manttan said at the time, according to The Daily Mercury.

‘He pulled down the boy’s pants and underpants and said: “I am going to rape you, little b****”.’

By chance, the boy’s father was driving in the local area and saw his son’s bike before he stopped to save him.

‘The boy’s father came by, went to the bushland and saw his boy with his bottom exposed, on a coffee table; Schauer was shirtless and was about to pull his own pants down,’ the prosecutor said.

Schauer is currently out on bail and has since been charged with breaching prohibition orders on various occasions, The Mercury reported.

He has previously been described as of ‘borderline intelligence’ after he was hit by a car and knocked off his bike as a child.

Queensland Police told Daily Mail Australia they were aware of Sunday’s incident but couldn’t confirm if the man involved was a registered sex offender.

‘Police will act upon and investigate all information received and members of the public are encouraged to make contact with their local police,’ a spokesperson said.
