‘Sex slave’ of Prince Andrew associate Jeffrey Epstein lives in Australia

A woman who allegedly worked as an underage prostitute for a billionaire associate of Prince Andrew is now living in Australia where she has ‘turned her life around.’

Virginia Roberts, 33, said she was recruited into prostitution in her native Florida aged 15 by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

She said she was paid to have sex with the financier and his associates – and travelled around the world with him under the guise of being his masseuse.

But Roberts has since swapped jet-setting the globe with wealthy men for daily school runs and afternoons at her local pub in Cairns, northern Queensland.

Roberts told MailOnline she was happy with her new life in Cairns and that her husband of sixteen years, whom she married after 10 days of dating in Thailand, is ‘very protective of me’.

Friends say she loves a drink and plays the ‘pokies’ – an Aussie colloquialism for slot machines – with her husband.

They live alongside families with well-kept homes and new-model family vehicles.

Stunning sandy beaches, world-class restaurants, and quality schools are all within a few miles.

Neighbours say the pair keep to themselves, with one saying: ‘You probably wouldn’t advertise a past like that. This community is a great place for living a peaceful life.

‘None of us really interact with each other. I met her [Virginia] once when she was taking the kids around for Halloween.’

Another neighbour, who only gave his name as John, says: ‘I read a bit in the Cairns Post about that case a good couple of years ago, but I had no idea she lives across the street!’

A bartender at the Smithfield Tavern, where the couple are regulars, added: ‘They come in here a fair bit. They’re both really lovely, especially her. I can’t believe she’s involved with all that. It just goes to show that you never really know anything about people!’

Roberts lived a tough life in her teens. She said she was ‘recruited’ at 15 after Epstein apparently spotted her picking up towels at Donald Trump’s Florida Mar-A-Lago resort where her dad worked as a groundsman.

In the years prior, she was busted stealing money from Palm Beach burger bar Roadhouse Grill, where she worked as a waitress.

Roberts also alleged she’d lived on the streets at age 13, and was molested by a close family friend.

But when she began working with Epstein, her family believed she’d hit the jackpot.

Her Aunt Carol said: ‘My brother thought it was all very legitimate. When Virginia told us she’d met Prince Andrew we were thrilled. Virginia gave my Mum a copy of the picture of Andrew with his arm around her – the picture which has now been seen around the world. At the time… I couldn’t believe Virginia had met Prince Andrew. I was ecstatic.’

When her story was revealed by the Mail On Sunday in 2007, friends suggested she’d had problems with marijuana – and alleged she’d been in rehab at 15.

Now, her only habits appear to be smoking a pack of cigarettes a day and the occasional pint at the pub or beer at home.

The Roberts family say Virginia’s husband was her saving grace. Aunt Carol said: ‘She met Robbie and turned her life around.’

A source told MailOnline: ‘He has a heart of gold when it comes to his family, and if he has a fault, it’s that he’s almost too protective of Virginia. But you can’t blame the guy, given all she’s been through.

‘Relocating to Cairns was the best decision they ever made. She seems really happy with her new life. She’s fairly private, but very polite. Virginia calls people “sweetheart”, a lot, which a nice because she’s a real sweetheart herself.’

Billionaire Epstein, now 65, was sentenced to just 18 months in county jail and 12 months house arrest after he was convicted of a single charge of soliciting prostitution from underage girls in 2006. He served just 13 months.
