Shane Warne is one of the nation’s most prolific cricket stars.

But the 51-yar-old spin king proved he was just like everyone else when he visited his local IGA in Melbourne on Saturday.

Shane opted to go barefoot as he quickly ducked into the supermarket to pick up some supplies.

The cricketer was seen carrying a box of essentials, including Samboy potato chips and a large roll of paper towel.

For the quick pit stop Shane wore a fitted polo shirt along with a pair of black with red striped Adidas trackpants.

He finished his father-on-the-run ensemble with a white snapback cap.

Shane admitted he wasn’t a ‘9 to 5 dad’ when his kids were growing-up during an interview with A Current Affair last month.

‘They had to do months on end, watching dad on the TV because I was playing cricket for Australia’ he told the program.

Shane went on: ‘One of the biggest sacrifices is that you’re away from your family for a long period of time. It’s not easy, it’s really tough.’

He added: ‘Now, these days, you have FaceTime and everything else, then it was completely different.’

Shane said that cricketers would be too busy playing to ‘go home for births’ and admitted he did not meet his son, Jackson, 21, who was born in 1999, until the tot was months old.

‘I didn’t see my son until he was a few months old, because I was in the middle of the World Cup, and I wasn’t going to leave the World Cup. It was just a different time’.

However the proud father says that despite his time away from his family, his children have grown up to become people he admires.

‘It’s just so nice and away they have turned out, I’m proud,’ he told the program.

‘They all have their own individual personalities, but am proud of them, they are great kids, great young adults,’ Shane said.

The former couple were married from 1995 to 2005. They briefly reconciled once more, but split again for the final time in 2010.
