A jet ski garage, a bowling alley and a wine cellar: Shane Warne’s plans to build a $5million Portsea home are revealed after the cricket legend snapped up the property last year

Cricket legend Shane Warne is reportedly planning to build a $5million palace escape in the coveted seaside town of Portsea, in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula.

According to The Herald Sun, plans have been submitted on the 51-year-old’s behalf to the Mornington Peninsula Shire Council to build the jaw-dropping getaway home, with will feature a bowling alley, a wine cellar and a jet ski garage.

Shane – who is currently in England – is said to have purchased the property in October last year for $3.6million.

The publication reports the main residence will include a theatre, library, observation deck, a gym and a games room.

There will also be a sprawling en-suite master bedroom complete with a walk-in wardrobe and dressing area, as well as two other bedrooms.

The home will also boast a four-bedroom guest wing, which is set to feature a music room, alfresco bar and barbecue area. 

The guest house is also due to be built around a large swimming pool.

The property, which is a short walk to Shelly Beach, is said to have been purchased with conceptual plans for a contemporary four-bedroom home.

But Shane is said to have put the plans aside, preferring instead to create his own design from scratch.

The council planning application estimates the project is set to cost around $5million.

Daily Mail Australia have contacted a representative for Shane for further comment.

Real estate agent Jonathan Dixon from JP Dixon described the home as ‘the total package’.

He added of Warnie’s love of real estate: ‘Everyone thinks he just buys houses to turn them over, but that’s not correct. If you follow his lifestyle, it changes so often.’

Shane also bought another pad in Brighton for $7.5million in 2009, and sold it for $10.8million in 2013.
