Shani Grimmond does ‘permanent damage’ to her lips with filler injections

Aussie influencer Shani Grimmond does ‘permanent damage’ to her lips with filler injections as she vows to ditch the cosmetic procedure

An Australian influencer has revealed her lips are ‘permanently damaged’ after she had them injected them with filler for seven years.

Shani Grimmond, 25, first dabbled with cosmetic injectables at 18 and plumped more than eight millilitres of filler into her lips across several different beauty salons.

She started to feel unhappy with her lips at age 23 when she realised she looked ‘like I had a mouth guard in’ because her top lip was protruding, and so documented the process of getting the filler dissolved on her YouTube channel.

But after getting it dissolved, she had a change of heart and had another two millilitres injected back in less than two weeks later.

Shani had her filler dissolved again last week – which marked two years since she last got her lips filled – and said the overfilling had done permanent damage to her face, reports Outspoken the Podcast.

She has now vowed to stay away from the cosmetic procedure in the future.

Taking to Instagram last Tuesday, Shani told her 1.3 million followers the skin pockets above her lips were so stretched from overfilling that they had to be dissolved again.

The Queenslander clarified the damage wasn’t the fault of the most recent salon that filled her lips in 2020, and asked her followers to ‘stop trolling’ the beauty therapist.

She is now encouraging women to embrace their natural beauty, and will be going back to her natural lip size because the damage caused by filler is not worth it.

Speaking about getting her filler dissolved for the first time in September 2020, Shani said: ‘I’ve been looking for a good place to dissolve my lips for a year and I finally found it.

‘So we’ve got filler in my lips that hasn’t dissolved naturally and instead has migrated above my lip. It’s really quite scary to be honest.

‘This is the lesson I have had to learn. Going to random places and I don’t know what they’re putting in there… this is what happens.’
