Australian beauty influencer Shani Grimmond has revealed the go-to skincare routine that has helped clear up her skin over the past year.

Pointing to a breakout on her chin and lower cheek area in a recent video, Ms Grimmond revealed she has faced skin troubles for the past 12 months.

The Brisbane beauty took viewers through a step by step demonstration of her daily regimen, which includes cleansing water, a host of moisturisers and facial oils as well as an elaborate battery operated exfoliating brush.

And the total cost of her daily routine is $660.

Ms Grimmond cleanses her face using Garnier Micellar Water which is available for $7.70 from Woolworths, and treats her lips with a budget friendly lip balm from Carmex retailing at a reasonable $3.99.

The beauty blogger lets her skin breathe by giving it a break from cosmetics for ‘about half of every week’, while steering clear of drying makeup wipes as they deprive skin of its natural oils.

Ms Grimmond said her skin is extremely dry and prone to feeling tight, so she loves using the Vanity Planet GlowSpin after cleansing to moisturise and hydrate her complexion as part of her evening routine.

The exfoliating facial brush is available online for $180, and can be adjusted to different speeds and comes with interchangeable heads for a variety of face shapes.

Ms Grimmond uses the Dermalogica Clear Start Break Out Foam ($29) with her facial brush to remove dead skin cells and keep pores clean.

‘It helps to remove bacteria which prevents breakouts,’ she said, adding the product also stimulates blood flow across the face.

‘Because my skin is so dry, I always ensure its super nourished with Dermalogica moisturiser – sometimes I sleep in this, especially during winter months.

‘Even though I have a bit of acne…I never skip face masks or hydrating lotions, because it’s not going to make my skin worse – I need it,’ she said.

The online star also uses a $32 Dermalogica Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask to clear her complexion.

Ms Grimmond follows these steps with an intricate moisturising routine she said evens out her skin tone and pigmentation, using Dermalogica Phyto Replenish Oil ($85) and Brite Lite from Dermaceuticals ($140).

Referring to the previous step as her ‘pre-moisturiser’, Ms Grimmond then applies Clear Start ($26) and Intensive Moisture Balance ($74) from her favoured brand Dermalogica.

Finalising her elaborate regimen, Ms Grimmond spritzes a generous quantity of Antioxidant Hydramist by Dermalogica (on sale from Skinmart for $49) over her visage.

Occasionally, Ms Grimmond said she likes to dab on a spot cream from Skin o2 which she uses for stubborn pimples and costs $33 for a 25 gram tube.

But a number of followers voiced concern about the volume of products the social media sensation uses on her skin.

‘Not to be mean, but there is a chance you might be using too many products,’ one concerned user wrote.

‘Just make sure all is necessary in your routines!’

Another viewer echoed this sentiment, writing ‘less is always more with skincare’ while advising the social starlet to ‘stick to one face oil’.

One commentator who said she has experienced problem skin in the past advised she ‘found simplicity worked better…than multiple steps and ingredients’.
