Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s plans to move back to the UK put on hold

Fans of the Osbournes who are waiting to see them settling back into village life in Buckinghamshire in the UK as part of 10-part docuseries Home To Roost are going to need to be patient.

Although the show was announced last August and the family put their huge home in LA on the market in September, they are still very much living on this side of the pond.

The BBC promised a ‘funny moving and honest insight’ into their new lives in the UK. The trouble is, nine months later, they haven’t actually moved back yet.

Sources close to Ozzy, 74, and Sharon, 70, blame the ‘terrible’ property market in LA and also explain that they are waiting for massive renovations to take place in the UK, some of them aimed to allow Ozzy to receive live-in care for his Parkinson’s.

They have also decided that they aren’t ready to give up a base in California for good, and want to keep a home of some sort in the city.

So have the BBC actually shot any film yet? Not much, comes the reply.

The Osbournes reality TV show on MTV was a huge hit from 2002 to 2005, and showed Ozzy, Sharon, Kelly and Jack. Their other daughter, Aimee, declined to take part.

In a recent interview Ozzy said: ‘I don’t know how The Kardashians have done it for so long. It sent us crazy at the end.

‘I am not sorry I did it, but after three or four years I said, “Do you know what, we’re going to lose somebody because it is getting too crazy.”

‘There is rock and roll fame, which is pretty intense, but that Osbourne level was just unbelievable. The kids paid for it.

‘They all ended up doing drugs. Jack got clean and sober on that show, Kelly messed up on that show, I was messed up and Sharon got cancer.’

In another interview in November last year Ozzy said: ‘To be honest with you, if I had my way, I’d stay in America. I’m American now… to be honest with you, I don’t want to go back. F*** that.’

But Sharon, who was pictured last week moving furniture out of her LA home, had also previously detailed her reasons for relocation as well as the backlash faced from relatives.

‘Oh they’re not happy, they are saying “You can’t do this” and it’s like, I just don’t feel content [in the US] anymore,’ she told Hello.

The star also added that she felt she ‘never really belonged there,’ despite being welcomed by US citizens. ‘I’ve always been very English,’ she added.

Sharon said on the program that Ozzy had taken some convincing but he told The Observer in August last year: ‘I’m fed up with people getting killed every day.

‘God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert… It’s f*****g crazy.’

Despite California’s Forest Lawn cemetery being the favored burial ground by celebrities such as Paul Walker, Brittany Murphy and Bette Davis, Ozzy made it crystal clear that he doesn’t want to follow suit.

He continued: ‘I’m English. I want to be back. But, saying that, if my wife said we’ve got to go and live in Timbuktu, I’ll go. But, no, it’s just time for me to come home.’

Quashing any speculating that the move could have been promoted by Ozzy’s battle with Parkinson’s Disease, Sharon added: ‘It isn’t the United States of America at all. Nothing’s united about it. It’s a very weird place to live right now.’

Meanwhile, Rod Stewart – a fellow long-term resident of California – has put his house up for sale for $70 million.

It comes as taxes rise and amid soaring crime rates. Others who have left LA include Mark Wahlberg – who has headed in Nevada, where there is no income tax, and Elon Musk, who has relocated to Texas.
