Sharon Osbourne reveals she forced an assistant to go into a burning building to save her dogs and priceless artwork before FIRING him for not finding it funny

Sharon Osbourne revealed that she forced an assistant to go inside her burning house to save her dogs and art, before firing him for not finding the situation funny.

The TV personality, 67, made an appearance on Friday’s Christmas special of Would I Lie To You when she candidly discussed the incident.

She explained that the fire began when festive candles set husband Ozzy’s ‘arm and half his hair’ in the family living room, and she decided to enlist the help of her assistant who was sleeping in their guest house.

Sharon told her fellow panellists: ‘I thought, right, where is that assistant? So I go into the guest house, and he’s like: “Is everything alright?” and I’m like: “No, the house is on fire, get out and help, go in and get the paintings out”.

Adding that she told him to also ‘go in and find the dogs’, she revealed that once he had saved her pooches he was given an oxygen mask by fire fighters she took it off him and demanded he go back inside the burning building.

‘They came and they had this oxygen for the assistant. So I said: “How very dare you. You work here. You get more paintings out,”‘ Sharon explained.

Going on to explain how she came to fire the assistant, the former X Factor judge added: ‘Well, after this terrible night, he was not talking to me.

‘Ozzy and I were recounting everything, we were laughing and laughing, and [the assistant] said: “I don’t see what’s funny about any of this.”

‘He said: “I think I’m going to have damaged lungs.” I mean, please. So then I just said: “If you don’t think that’s funny, do you think this is funny? You’re fired.”‘

While another added: ‘I was not only horrified at this disgusting story from the utterly revolting #sharonosbourne but also the way the panelists and audience laughed at the repulsive treatment of a worker. Not funny. More boycotted comics on my list.’

Expressing their disappointment, one viewer wrote: ‘@MrsSOsbourne While I’m sure story about firing as assistant was an exaggerated farce of what u do during a fire, it didn’t paint u in a very good light & that disappoints me bc u were lovely when I briefly met u at a taping of The Talk. Painting can be replaced, life can’t.’

One viewer went on to say: ‘@BBC Thanks for airing this. Now we know how little regard @MrsSOsbourne has for another person’s life.’
