Sharon Tate’s sister Debra was reduced to tears by how accurately Margot Robbie captured the late actress in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Debra, 66, paid a visit to the set of Quentin Tarantino’s film and described seeing Margot act in a recent interview with Vanity Fair.

‘She made me cry because she sounded just like Sharon,’ said Debra, who lost her sister in August 1969 to the Manson Family murders.

‘The tone in her voice was completely Sharon, and it just touched me so much that big tears [started falling]. The front of my shirt was wet. I actually got to see my sister again… nearly 50 years later,’ shared Debra.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt as a fictional actor and stuntman who live next door to Sharon.

Debra shared with Vanity Fair: ‘When I read the whole script, I knew that the real meat of the story was going to be Leo and Brad Pitt’s characters.’

She added: ‘I mean, I really wish that Quentin Tarantino would do the Sharon Tate story, and I would love to see Margot play [that]… But that was not the movie that Quentin had written, and I knew it and I understood it. And it was his vision.’

Debra allowed: ‘I’m not going to tell anybody that has done such a wonderful job, and a respectful job at honoring a particular situation, that they have to do my version of a story. Although I really wish he would’ve.’

Back in 2017, Quentin’s plan to do a Manson Family-related movie was hitting the headlines and there were rumors Jennifer Lawrence would play Sharon.

Debra told TMZ in July of that year that Jennifer was ‘not pretty enough’ for the part, and she suggested Margot instead.

Last year, she met with Quentin about the film and told TMZ: ‘This movie is not what people would expect it to be when you combine the Tarantino and Manson names.’

Debra is thanked in the end credits of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which features a scene of Sharon going to a movie theater and observing the audience react to her in her film The Wrecking Crew co-starring Dean Martin.

Sharon was killed while eight months pregnant by her husband Roman Polanski, and was only 26 years old at the time of her death.

Debra has since become an advocate for victims’ rights and has staunchly opposed paroling Manson Family members involved in the Tate-LaBianca murders.
