Shaughna Phillips looks different in rare TV appearance after ditching filler

Shaughna Phillips showed off her natural beauty after ditching filler.

The former Love Island star, 28, appeared on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain with hosts Richard Madeley and Susanna Reid to discuss whether holidays should be postponed due to the ongoing cost of living crisis.

She looked radiant as she sported a glamorous makeup look after recently having her lip filler dissolved in order to ‘practice what she preaches’ when it comes to separating her happiness from her body image.

Shaughna – who appeared on the first ever Winter Love Island in 2020 – cut a chic figure in a white top and pale pink blazer.

On the ITV show she defended those who may be taking a vacation in the coming months.

The influencer said: ‘I can completely understand going in and talking about my holiday while someone is trying to figure out whether they are going to have breakfast or dinner, I get it’

She continued: ‘I think it’s all relative. Hearing someone else going on holiday would make me happy for them, and I’d love to hear their experiences.

‘You can be happy for someone, while also be thinking, ‘I wish I was going on holiday’.’

She was forced to have her filler taken out when they started to develop lumps after admitting a fuller pout made her feel more confident.

Shaughna recently documented having her lip filler dissolved, claiming she wants to ‘practice what she preaches’ after encouraging her fans to ‘separate their happiness from their body image’.

She said: ‘The real reason I’m sharing my lips dissolving journey is because I have been preaching about separating your happiness from your body image.

‘I’ve been putting this off for so long because I just can’t bear the thought of having lips anymore. It will be all done in two weeks, all fresh and new so I’m trying to practice what I preach.’

Following the appointment, she announced: ‘I am done. My lips are a little bit swollen because of the treatment, they’ll be gone in about six hours and then I’ll have no lips so I’m gonna enjoy this six hours.

‘You know, what you build it all up in your head but it really ain’t nothing is it? It’s bloody lips, life goes on. It really weren’t that bad.’

Difficulties: Shaughna previously said she thinks she was suffering from body dysmorphia during her time on Love Island when in reality she had 'nothing to worry about'

It comes after she revealed that she suffered from body dysmorphia while appearing on Love Island and spoke about being on diets since the age of 14.

She admitted she has been on some extreme diets, including eating less than 500 calories in one day, and said she had ‘terrible eating habits’ at one point.

Shaughna, who recently launched her wellness platform Be You With Shaughna, told OK!’s New Magazine: ‘I think from a very young age I was taught that food is the enemy.’

She said she believes she was suffering from mental health condition body dysmorphia while on Love Island when in reality she had ‘nothing to worry about’.

‘I definitely think I had body dysmorphia in Love Island because I was so insecure,’ she explained.

Shaughna admitted she has been on varying diets since she was 14 years old and criticised teenage magazines for their articles about ‘holiday diet tips’ and losing weight.

She said she lost four stone a few years before Love Island, explaining that she believes her weight loss was linked to the death of her father Eddie in December 2016.

Speaking about a period of time when she was determined to keep her calorie intake below 500 a day, Shaughna said she would feel like it was a ‘good day’ if she hardly ate anything or worked off the calories on the treadmill.

‘I used to carry around like a chocolate bar in my bag if I ever felt very faint and I’d have a bite of the chocolate bar to keep me conscious, which is just ridiculous,’ she added.

Shaughna said she also thought she would be happy if she was skinnier, but said she was still unhappy when she reached a point of being ‘too skinny’.

She said her turning point came when she decided she wanted to look fit and be physically stronger, which led her to introducing better eating habits.
