After weeks apart from their families, the show’s contestants were briefly reunited with them after they flew into Melbourne from around the country.

And after a challenging few weeks of renovations, they couldn’t have been happier to see their children and parents.

‘Just the medicine the doctor ordered, I think. Our kids are little… They’re beautiful, and I’m so happy to have them back in my arms,’ cried Jasmin, 36.

Meanwhile, both Jimmy and Tam, 31, couldn’t hold back the tears as they walked towards their young daughter, Frankie.

‘She melts my heart, mate,’ said an emotional Jimmy, 33, of his daughter.

As Shelley and co-host Scott Cam stood back and watched the contestants with their families, she struggled to keep her own emotions in check.

And while Scott, 57, tried to appear stoic, it was apparent he too was moved by the emotional scenes.

‘That was the best. The absolute best,’ said a smiling Sarah, 27, after seeing her parents.

Added George, 33: ‘That was good. That was enough to get us over the line, I think. We definitely needed that.’
