A fearless seal has earned the nick-name ‘Chuck Norris’ after it was filmed chasing a great white shark in South Africa.

The bizarre role reversal was caught on camera by the crew of a cage-diving boat off the coast of Mossel Bay earlier this month.

In the clip, the seal appears to be following a shark, which is apparently uninterested by the potential meal.

‘Seal chasing a shark, never thought I’d see the day,’ the man filming remarks.

He adds that the crew are going to name the tough seal Chuck Norris, after the famous martial artist and actor.

Another crew member jokes: ‘Sharks are vegetarians. That’s the conclusion of today.’

The man filming comments: ‘Mossel Bay sharks are vegetarians, there you have it.

‘Juicy seal around you and these sharks aren’t even interested.’

His friend adds: ‘I’m on tour to see the most ferocious animal in the world and they swim away from a seal!’

The person who uploaded the clip commented: ‘Videos like these make it easy to see that white sharks are not the mindless killers they are made out to be.’
