The force of the blow to the head caught the defenceless victim off guard and he collapsed into the road.

The gang of youths with the attacker then walked off leaving the victim seemingly unconscious on the ground.

It is not believed that the victim reported the attack to the police as a spokesman said they had no record of it.

The chilling footage was captured by security cameras at ANJ Off-licence, which is owned by Michael Sollinger, 37.

Mr Sollinger, who has ran his shop for seven years, said violent incidents were becoming a regular occurrence in the area.

He said he has reported the issue to the police but has since received threats to himself and his business.

He said: ‘There has always been a problem with drugs but it has been getting much worse recently.

‘Dealers have come into the shop trying to sell drugs to my staff and they become abusive when I ban them.

‘I have been threatened with knives and my staff are regularly threatened.

‘We are open until 3am so I always make sure there are at least two staff on duty.’

He added: ‘This is not the sort of area I want to bring my children up in. I don’t want them to see what goes on here so I tell my wife not to bring them to the shop.’
