Shocking footage has emerged of a Mercedes driver and his passenger brawling with residents armed with hammers and a plank of wood on a housing estate.
The car’s front and back windows were smashed during the frenzied attack which is believed to have taken place in Leeds – as some residents appear to cheer on the violence.
In the footage the driver of the silver Mercedes is knocked to the ground before his passenger is attacked with a plank and threatened with a hammer.

As the pair take off, a woman smashes two of the windows with a hammer and other missiles are hurled at the fleeing car by some of the bystanders.
A two minute clip of the confrontation – filmed by a witness – was shared anonymously on Facebook on Friday and quickly went viral. The incident is thought to have taken place last week.
The footage begins with two shirtless men squaring up to each other in the street in front of a baying crowd.
The bystanders cheer as one of the men appears to launch himself at the Mercedes driver and knocks him to the pavement.

A bald man in a blue vest then approaches the driver and passenger, points and screams ‘f*** off’ as the pair are surrounded.
Another man rushes up behind the passenger and cracks him over the head with a wooden plank while his back is turned.
Remarkably, he manages to stand his ground and confronts his attacker who scurries backwards with the plank raised.
A second man then runs up to the victim to threaten him with a hammer as tensions in the street reach boiling point.
A woman then rushes into the middle of the stand-off and shouts: ‘Here, the police are coming so f*** off.’
The driver and passenger get back in the Mercedes and begin to speed away before slamming the brakes on when one of the car lights is smashed by one of the crowd throwing something.

The passenger then gets out wielding a hammer and taunting the crowd.
A young woman tackles him and tries to grab the weapon as the driver mounts the pavement.
The woman is then seen taking the hammer away from the man and smashing the side and back windows, drawing cheers from the neighbours.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: ‘Police attended Kendal Drive, Halton, on the afternoon of Saturday, 16 June, following a report of an altercation involving a number of people.
‘Officers at the scene received third-hand reports of criminal damage to at least one vehicle which had already left the scene; however no victims have since come forward to report any offences to the police.
‘The neighbourhood team is aware of a video circulating on social media which captures this incident and an offence of affray has been recorded.
‘Anyone who witnessed any part of this incident or with information which could help police enquiries is asked to call the Leeds East Neighbourhood Policing Team via 101, quoting crime reference 13180308626. Information can also be given via the Live Chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.’
