A driver caught the heart-stopping moment two cars and a van were sent flying across the road. 

The dramatic footage was caught on Mike Ashcroft’s dash cam while he was driving on the A470 in Brecon, Wales. 

The video shows a car being thrown across the road as it flips and lands on its roof. 

Another car and van then career over the edge of the road and plunge down an embankment.

Mr Ashcroft said two women were in the car in front of him and that he tried helping them out of the car — which came to rest upside down

Mr Ashcroft, 47, told WalesOnline: ‘The footage is just shocking.

‘I think it takes scenes like this for people to realise how dangerous it can be on that road. It may make people take notice – it’s important to show people.’

Mr Ashcroft  said two women were in the car in front of him and that he tried helping them out of the car — which came to rest upside down. 

‘luckily they had their seat belts on but they were stuck in the seats. They said they were OK but they looked in shock,’ Mr Ashcroft added.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service two ambulances and a rapid response vehicle attended. 

Paramedics then transported ‘four walking wounded patients at the scene’ to Prince Charles Hospital in Merthyr Tydfil.
