The New York Police Department has released bodycam and surveillance footage of a gang member fatally shooting another man before he is killed by two officers.

Newly released video shows the fatal January encounter unfolding around 3.30am when two men got into a verbal altercation after leaving a hookah lounge in the East Village.

Earl Facey, 37, and Richard Reed, 41, were both inside the club with friends when the two groups got into a disagreement, prompting a bouncer to kick them out.

Once outside, Facey can be seen unveiling a gun and opening fire at Reed. Just seconds later, Reed responds by pulling out his own weapon and shooting at Facey.

Facey refused the officers’ commands and walked away from the men with his firearm still drawn.

He continued to ignore the officers and attempted to cross a roadway when he lifted up his left arm.

That prompted the officers to shoot Facey three times, fatally wounding him.
