Footy star Shane Mumford could be in further hot water after practice match footage emerged of him flooring a Sydney Swans opponent.

The Greater Western Sydney ruckman is already set to miss the Giants’ first two matches of the 2019 season after video emerged of him snorting a line of white powder.

He is now set to face a Match Review Panel after he appeared to throw his fist at Swans midfielder George Hewett, who had been covering him closely, late in the third quarter of the game on Friday morning.

Despite being knocked to the ground at the trial match at Blacktown, the midfielder was able to get back to his feet and take the ensuing free-kick.

The AFL confirmed he could be reported for incidents in scratch matches with all suspensions to be served during the home and away season, Fox Sports reported.

His actions could result in a lengthier suspension as any ban would not be served at the same time as the one already imposed on him by the Giants.

The 32-year-old accepted a $25,000 fine and was suspended for two games in November after footage emerged of the ruckman snorting the white substance.

The video footage dated back to 2015, shortly after he suffered a serious ankle injury.

At the time Mumford, a premiership winner with the Sydney Swans in 2012, feared his AFL career was over.

Mumford was employed part-time by the Giants in 2018 as a ruck coach after hanging up his boots the year before.

The Swans and the Giants will meet in a pre-season game at the same venue on March 2.
