But the 39-year-old rocker has battled with crippling anxiety disorder for nearly half of his life.

In a candid interview with The Sydney Morning Herald on Saturday, the talented star spoke candidly about his struggle with mental illness, revealing he’s ‘jealous’ of people who are naturally optimistic.

‘I get so jealous of people that wake up and seize the day,’ Daniel disclosed.

He devastatingly added: ‘I wake up and think, ‘what am I going to ruin today?”

It’s not the first time in recent weeks that the singer has spoken openly about living with anxiety.

In an interview with Andrew Denton, which aired on Channel Seven earlier this month, Daniel discussed shocking pictures from 2016 which showed him stumbling through the streets of Sydney.

‘I have had a pretty serious anxiety disorder for 15 years… and it got really bad at that point and I was not coping,’ he explained.

‘I’ve done therapy and a lot of stuff, like medication to stop shaking. I was constantly panicked.

Daniel denied ever having an addiction but said he would turn to alcohol to try to fix his anxiety.

‘I was medicating my anxiety with alcohol, a lot. And I didn’t know what it was and I was misdiagnosed with a lot of things,’ he said.

The year before the infamous 2016 pictures of Daniel stumbling in the street, the star was arrested for DUI and was taken to hospital after collapsing in a Sydney bar.

Daniel has now returned to living in his hometown of Newcastle, New South Wales, and is also once again recording music.

He makes up one half of electronic group, DREAMS, with the outfit having recently performed at Coachella.
