Simon Cowell plays doting dad to mini-me son Eric, 4, on Malibu beach trip with Lauren Silverman

He has just signed a reported £25million deal on the America’s Got Talent judging lineup for the foreseeable future.

But Simon Cowell took time away from his TV duties on Tuesday as he hit the beach in Malibu with his mini-me son Eric, four, and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 41.

The X Factor mogul, 58, looked every inch the doting dad, coaching Eric how to surf as the tot took to the waters.

Sweet: Simon Cowell took time away from his TV duties on Tuesday as he hit the beach in Malibu with his mini-me son Eric, four, and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman, 41.

Simon veered away from his signature high-waisted jeans, donning a pair of summery lime green shorts, which he paired with a soft grey plimsolls.

He teamed the look with a plain charcoal grey t-shirt and black aviators, while little Eric looked raring to get out to sea in his black and blue wetsuit.

Meanwhile, Lauren cut a stylish figure as she showcased her tremendous pins in a pair of tiny monochrome shorts, which she wore atop of a black one-shouldered swimsuit.

The American beauty kept cool under a white wide-brimmed hat and finished off the look with a pair of oversized shades.

The family trip was packed with activities after the trio cycled to the idyllic beach.

After setting up a place to sunbathe, it wasn’t long until Eric took to the waters under the watchful eye of Simon.

The youngster appeared to squeal with delight as he tried his hand at body-boarding, with Lauren later encouraging him by giving him a high-five.

Simon’s beach jaunt comes just days after he inked a deal securing his place on the America’s Got Talent judging lineup for the foreseeable future.

The deal is reportedly worth £25million and also keeps him on as executive producer – along with his company, Syco – on the NBC series.

The media mogul, who last week was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame – said: ‘Without NBC, we wouldn’t be making Got Talent and I’m very proud to work with them. I’m excited for the next few years.’

On receiving his Hollywood star, the music producer was feeling reflective as he discussed the people who became hits thanks to shows like BGT and the X Factor.

For Simon’s star ceremony, fellow Britain’s Got Talent Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon flew out to Los Angeles to support him.

The duo were just two of Simon’s close colleagues and musical protegees in attendance at the event, which saw him joined by his partner Lauren Silverman, their son Eric, four, and her son Adam, 12.

The music mogul, who is responsible for kick starting the careers of One Direction, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony, was also supported some of his protegees Kelly Clarkson and Leona Lewis at the star-studded event.

Taking to the podium, Grammy-winner Kelly, who won American Idol in 2002, gave a gushing introduction to the self-confessed Mr Nasty of reality television, who stood shyly at the side of the stage.
