Simon Cowell strolls along the beach with pet dogs during Barbados trip

He’s known for his love for animals and even donated £190,000 to a dogs’ charity at a fundraiser late last year.

And Simon Cowell appeared in great spirits as he enjoyed a scenic stroll along the beach with his pet dogs Squiddly, Diddly, Freddy and Daisy during his nearly month-long trip to Barbados on Monday evening.

The media mogul, 60 – who stepped out without son Eric, five, and partner Lauren Silverman, 42 – continued to showcase his 20lb weight loss as he went shirtless and sported grey shorts.

Opting for comfort, the X Factor star ditched his footwear in favour of a barefoot appearance as he walked alongside his adorable Yorkshire terriers in the scenic Caribbean island.

The CEO of Syco dressed appropriately for the sweltering hot weather as he shielded his eyes from the sun in a pair of square-framed shades.

Simon was in good company as he enjoyed some quality time with his pets, who were guided along the sandy shores with red, blue and pink dog leashes.

Little Eric has been raised around the playful pets, with dogs Squiddly and Diddly joining the Cowell family back in 2013 and little Freddy being added to the gang in 2016.

Nearly two years ago, Simon added to his family by adopting stray dog Daisy from Barbados. She was found abandoned with her two puppies, but thanks to charity K9 Puppies, of which Simon is a patron, they were all nursed back to health.

In 2018, the dog lover revealed he was ‘100 per cent cloning’ his beloved pet dogs at the cost of £180,000.

At the time, he told The Sun On Sunday he is using a South Korean company to ensure that his three Yorkshire terriers live on, even after their death.

He said: ‘I am 100 per cent cloning the dogs, all of them. We’ve thoroughly looked into it, got all the details and I can prove to you I’m going to clone them. There is documentation. I am doing it because I cannot bear the thought of them not being around.

‘I might actually do it sooner rather than later, which will mean we have six dogs running around. It doesn’t hurt them. It’s like a swab, a DNA thing.’ The process costs around £60,000 per animal and scientists perform a skin biopsy on the dog’s stomach.

The paper reports that scientists then remove the nucleus from harvested eggs and insert a skin cell from the animal to be cloned.

Known for his acid-tongued personality, Simon proved he’s a big softie at heart when he donated £190,000 ($250,000) to a dogs charity on December 28.

TV judge Simon has been showcasing his newly trim figure of late, after he shed the pounds after embarking on a vegan diet.

He recently said The Ellen DeGeneres Show: ‘I went to see this doctor in London. We did some tests. And then a month later he said, “You have the worst diet I’ve ever met from any patient.”‘

Simon then added: ‘It’s like the Eric diet because he actually, apart from ice cream, he actually likes water. I mean, who likes water? And his raw vegetables. So I’m on like, the Eric Cowell diet.’

The media personality also spoke about cutting down on alcohol last year, he told Extra: ‘I went to see this guy who’s very well-known.

‘And he said to me, after doing some blood work, “You can’t have red meat, dairy, sugar, bread or gluten.”

‘I’m thinking, “What about alcohol?” And he said, “Maybe not quite as much as you had before.” And I did it and I stuck to it and it’s easy.’
