Simone Biles shares teaser of ‘Save the Date’ cards for wedding with fiancé Jonathan Owens

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles has ticked off another important part of her wedding plans with her NFL player fiancé Jonathan Owens, as the pair sent out their Save the Date cards.

Owens, 26, popped the question to Biles, 25, in a gazebo at sunset on Valentine’s Day, presenting her with an oval diamond ring designed by jeweler ZoFrost.

Now the couple have set the date for the upcoming beachside nuptials which will see the duo tie the knot at a destination wedding.

Counting down the days: Simone Biles and her fiancé Jonathan Owens have sent out ‘Save the Date’ cards for their wedding

Coming soon: Fans will have to wait to find out when the wedding will take place, though Biles previously confirmed it would take place in 2023

Taking to Instagram Story on Monday, the record-breaking gymnast reposted an image of the card which featured two photos of the happy couple on a white sand beach with the ocean in the background.

At the bottom of the card, the date is hidden by a caption which read, ‘Ahhh please come sooner!! The perfect couple’ alongside a white heart and ring emoji.

The exciting update came just weeks after Biles had revealed that a wedding venue had been booked for her big day.

The pro athlete celebrated the moment by posting a snapshot of her and her husband-to-be sharing a kiss by the ocean.

‘One step closer to becoming Mrs. Owens. Venue [check], date [check],’ she teased in the caption.

It appears the star is going all out for her wedding, after she previously revealed that she would be wearing two dresses for the event.

Biles gave fans a teasing glimpse of what her dresses might look like in March after she posted several photos from a dress-shopping trip to designer Galia Lahav’s Los Angeles boutique.

The pro athlete later shared in her stories that she picked out two numbers for the big day, which is set for 2023.

Easy pick: In a fan Q&A on Instagram stories, Biles said that the first dress she tried on 'was one of the ones I picked.' 'The second one was about 8 in I'm guessing,' she added.

Meanwhile, Lahav also posted snaps from the shopping trip, showing Biles trying on two stunning gowns, which presumably did not make the final cut.

Galia Lahav’s ready-to-wear bridal gowns range in price from $2,190 to $4,960 online, though neither of the dresses Biles was pictured in on Instagram are available on the site.

One of the dresses, the strapless one, is a made-to-order design.

Other stars to wear Galia Lahav at their weddings include Paris Hilton, tennis player Sloane Stephens, Selling Sunset’s Heather Rae Young, and The Bachelor’s Jade Roper.

A week later, Biles revealed that the couple were planning a beachside destination wedding and that they’ll hire a wedding planner.

While answering a few fan questions online, Biles confirmed that her wedding will take place in 2023 and stated that they are ‘still in the process of solidifying plans/details’ for their wedding, so they haven’t gotten to planning the honeymoon.

‘I’ve always wanted to go to Bora Bora!’ she admitted.

Biles answered more fan questions the month before, saying she was totally surprised when Owens popped the question in February after two years of dating — and though he clearly had a special night planned, it seemed normal because it was Valentine’s Day.

‘I was completely clueless, because it was Valentine’s Day, so it was like, whatever, it’s normal,’ she said in a video.

‘When we got there the guy was like, “Hey, I’m taking pictures of all the couples coming through, yada yada, so I really had no idea,’ she added.

She also revealed that her must-have for her wedding is the beach, explaining: ‘It will be a destination wedding’ — but she noted that it won’t be in Belize.

Answering another fan question about places she’d like to travel, Biles appeared to float some possible honeymoon destinations, saying they are going soon to Turks & Caicos but she would also like to visit Thailand, Bora Bora, Iceland, and Australia.

When one fan skipped ahead and asked whether they want children, Biles said she hopes they will have kids ‘one day’ and it is ‘definitely [in our] future plans,’ but they are ‘taking everything one step at a time.’

‘I want two kids. He always says he wants a football team, but he usually says three,’ she said in a video, panning to Owens holding up three fingers.

Though they have only been together for two years, she said that because it was a ‘pandemic relationship,’ things ‘moved fairly quickly and we got to know each other on a deep level fast.’

‘So 2 but feels like 4 or 5 years,’ she said. ‘Wouldn’t change it for the world and when you know you know.’

The bride- and groom-to-be announced their happy news on Instagram on February 15, sharing several photos of the moment Owens got down on one knee to pop the question on Valentine’s Day.

Jewelry designer ZoFrost, of ZoFrost & Co, revealed to DailyMail.com that the design was a team effort, with Owens handpicking the ‘perfect diamond’ himself.

It’s a three-carat oval stone with F color and VVS2 clarity.

ZoFrost said they started working together several months ago, and added the extra smaller diamonds for a special touch.

Days after they shared their engagement news, the couple appeared together on the Today show to talk about the exciting time, and Biles beamed as she admitted her ring was a better piece of bling than her four gold Olympic medals.
