Singaporean socialite Jamie Chua reveals how she decorates her million-dollar home

A millionaire socialite known as Singapore’s ‘Instagram Queen’ has shared a glimpse inside her the living room of her palatial home decorated with $870 pillows, $2,270 throws and a $16,400 antique suitcase.

Jamie Chua, 46, showed fans how she decorates the sprawling space in a YouTube video uploaded on May 28, the 45th day of the country’s lockdown which has been dubbed a ‘circuit breaker’ Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

‘I’ve been doing some cooking which is not a very [Jamie Chua] thing to do, but I’ve tried,’ the founder of skincare line Luminous1 says in the clip.

‘It’s really back to basics. I’m even colouring my own hair…I know there are more serious problems in the world, but today I am feeling a little bit lacklustre so let me complain.’

The lap of luxury: The Hermès monogrammed pillows on either side of Jamie cost $870 each; the blanket she is shrouded in costs $2,270 and the tiny mosaic candle to the left of her head costs $302

Jamie has a penchant for French luxury labels, stacking $160 books from upscale jeweller Chaumet on glass coffee tables and covering her sofa with a $2,270 Hermès wool and cashmere blanket.

A limited edition Christian Dior bike sits on a stand in the window of her living room.

Only 70 of the $4,320 bikes were sold after launching on December 7, 2017, Architectural Digest reported.

The mother-of-two – who shares daughter Calista and son Cleveland with ex-husband, Indonesian business tycoon Nurdian Cuaca – scents the room with a $302 Fornasetti candle which she received as a birthday gift from Calista’s boyfriend.

She also lights a large Diptyque candle which costs $426 at Mecca.

‘These are my treasures, I love them so much,’ she says while clutching the candle and a long glass vase.

Circular containers of roses from Venus et Fleur are scattered around her home, including a $299 arrangement on the coffee table in the living room.

The Parisian florist specialises in bouquets of real roses that have been artificially enhanced to last for a year.

In an Instagram photo from April 5, Jamie poses beside three similar arrangements which cost $299, $399 and $479 respectively, bringing the total cost of her floral props to $1,177.

She has at least two $1,810 glass boxes from Louis Vuitton embossed with the brand’s iconic ‘LV’ logo, one of which sits on an enormous vintage Louis Vuitton padlocked trunk.

The company no longer manufactures trunks of that size, but online consignment stores sell similar pieces from the 1940s for $16,400.

In April, Jamie answered her followers’ most frequently asked questions about her favourite fashion labels, holiday destinations and how she maintains her age-defying appearance.

She showed viewers the most expensive item in her wardrobe – a $33,883 AUD Hermes Niloticus Crocodile Diamond Birkin handbag.

Covered in crocodile skin and glittering with diamonds, the exceptionally rare Hermes Himalaya Birkin is considered the ‘Holy Grail’ of handbag collections, according to auction house Christies.

Ms Chua is rumoured to own the largest collection of Hermes bags in the world, surpassing even those of Hermes super fans Kim Kardashian and Victoria Beckham.

She houses her vast array of accessories in a cavernous 700 square foot fingerprint-protected closet, which cost $120,000 to build per her own admission.

Her most treasured piece of jewellery is a nine diamond necklace, a replica of the one given to Carrie Bradshaw by her Russian beau Alexander Petrovsky in the final season of Sex and the City.

‘I was immediately obsessed with it and I knew I had to have it!’ she said.

It’s not clear how much Ms Chua’s necklace is worth, but similar pieces from Canadian luxury jeweller Minichiello start from $850 AUD online.
