Living one’s truth: Singer-songwriter Angel Olsen, 34, came out as gay on Instagram

In the first of the eight photos, Thibodeaux, a writer who has worked on the HBO series High Maintenance, can be seen sitting outside in orange shorts, a black collared shirt, brown loafers and dark sunglasses.

Even more noticeable: the bashful grin on her face as she moved her right hand through her short cropped locks.

The coming out post also featured closeup pictures of one of her tattoos, loafers, as well as five more of Thibodeaux posing solo, including when she sat on a massive bear statue.

Back in September 2019, the New York Times Magazine did a profile piece on Olsen. In it, she noted how some of her fans would ‘express the hope that Olsen is gay or at least bisexual’ based on her songs.

In that same article, she professed to be straight ‘for now, until further notice.’

Olsen, who now lives in Asheville, North Carolina, has released five studio albums since her debut — Half Way Home — in 2012.

Her fourth studio album, All Mirrors, was released on October 4, 2019 to critical acclaim.

Most recently, she dropped Whole New Mess in August 2020, which features tracks from All Mirrors that were arranged in a more intimate style.
