What makes a woman ‘beautiful’? Single men reveal what they find most attractive in a female partner – and the answers might surprise you

  • Perth dating expert Louanne Ward asked men what makes a woman ‘beautiful’
  • Most said attraction is less about physical appearance and more about character
  • Several noted that a good personality makes a woman more attractive
  • A recent survey found men are most interested in honest, confident women
  • They are also attracted to kind, appreciative and trustworthy women who are fun

Single men have revealed what the believe makes a woman truly ‘beautiful’ – and the answers are almost certain to surprise you.

The discussion began when dating coach Louanne Ward posted in her Facebook group, She Said He Said, asking male members to explain what they find most attractive in a potential partner.

‘Men commonly say it’s not just about looks but then don’t take time to “get to know you and discover the beauty underneath”, so how can it not be about looks?’ the Perth relationship expert wrote.

‘Are we placing too much importance on the external world and missing the real beauty?’

The vast majority said long-term attraction is less about physical appearance and more about character – specifically pointing to the values a woman holds and how she treats others.

Louanne Ward, a relationship coach and dating expert from Perth, Western Australia, has shared insight into what men find most ‘beautiful’ about a woman

‘You don’t need to doll yourself up or have money in my eyes. A lady just has to have a heart and a mind that care,’ one man said.

A second said he would ‘take brains and personality over looks any day’.

‘Looks are a bonus in my book,’ he added.

‘It works both ways for both sexes. People who are confident, know what they want, set about doing that, that’s what you want.

‘There are plenty of women and men who are average in looks but killers in the other areas that mean so much in a relationship. Those are the keepers.’

A third man said he is most taken by a woman with a ‘good heart, a warm personality and a nice smile’, explaining that if someone has a kind character, that makes them ‘shine from within’.

‘If she has those, beauty truly does shine from within. When you love someone they will always be the most beautiful woman in the world to you – it all comes down to love,’ he added.

But some argued that ‘looks do matter’ because a romantic relationship cannot begin without some level of physical attraction.
