The widow of Sir Bruce Forsyth says she is still so consumed by grief that some days she ‘feels 100 years old’.

It is now 15 months since the showbusiness legend passed away in August 2017.

Lady Forsyth, 61, explained: ‘He really was my soulmate and will always be in my heart.

‘It is not easy but Bruce wanted me to stay strong. I think grieving is a journey and I will get there.

‘Sometimes I’m so sad about Bruce I feel like I’m 100. And then on other days I feel great.’ 

The Puerto Rico-born ex-Miss World – known as Wilnelia Merced before becoming Sir Bruce’s third wife – said she missed him every day since his death in August 2017 at the age of 89.

She insisted she was in no hurry to start a new relationship, telling Hello! magazine: ‘That is the last thing I am thinking about. 

Bruce wanted me to be happy – and right now I am happy.’ 

Former Strictly host Sir Bruce left her £11.5million in his will. 

They were married for 34 years after they met as judges of the 1980 Miss World contest in the UK. 

She said she is now escorted to events by their only child Jonathan Joseph, who she described as a ‘rock’.

She added: ‘He has been incredible. JJ comes over almost every day and we are spending more time together.

‘He is an amazing boy and has a lovely girlfriend. ‘I hope one day to be a grandmother.’
