Six Cons Of Illegal Steroids

The use of steroids has sparked a lot of controversial interest around the world and for a good reason—especially in the world of sports.

These controversies and the banning of steroids in the world of sports has had a contentious history. Following a recent case of a sworn testimony made by Denise and Raymond Garibaldi on the 17th of March, 2005, to the Committee on Government Reform (COGR) “that they were sure steroids killed their son.”

The above statement and other propelling factors led to the investigation of steroids in the game of baseball, and hence the agitations and implementations of the ban of steroids.

But the question is, how did it ever come to this? How did steroids get to become one of the most demonized drugs in the market today? The answer to that question is a cunningly deceptive one.

let’s start by establishing the fact that as there are good people, so also there are bad people, the same goes for steroids, there are excellent or legal steroids, and there are harmful or illegal steroids.

It is therefore pertinent that we endeavor to find legal steroids that are suitable for our consumption, and we say “suitable,” because that a drug is legal doesn’t necessarily mean that it is right for you. Below are some of the dangers associated with using illegal or banned steroids.

GYNECOMASTIA

Gynecomastia is a medical term that has its origin from the Greek words, meaning “women-like breasts.” Gynecomastia is a widespread and popular side effect that people are quite accustomed to when talking about the use of illegal steroids. The enlarged breast tissues can consist of fats, a gland or a combination of both.

Surgery for gynecomastia is quite expensive and painful. Typically you will pay about $2,000-$4,000 to have the tissue removed and follow up.

BALDNESS

Many steroids can convert to DHT (dihydrotestosterone)  much speedily than others. DHT is what in most cases, causes male baldness. If you are genetically inclined to be bald, then this might as well speed up the process, which is why you need to get legal steroids that have passed proper checks and scrutiny before made available to the general public.

TESTICULAR ATROPHY

Your balls will shrink if you use illegal steroids for any prolonged amount of time. If you look at the male “balls” and how they work in producing testosterone, it becomes clear that they can atrophy from disuse.

In layman’s terms, they shrink because they are not active. Like a leg in a cast, when you get the cast off the “leg” it becomes much smaller because it was made dormant during the time you had the cast.

If you are injecting an illegal steroid into your body, you are artificially producing testosterone. Your body has natural homeostasis (balance) it likes to stay at hormonally. If testosterone levels jump higher than average, then your body responds by decreasing some of the hormones usually used to produce testosterone.

The anterior pituitary gland produces a Luteinizing hormone which tells the Leydig cells in our balls to produce testosterone.  If at any point in time, your body senses that the testosterone levels are spiking higher than usual, the luteinizing hormone production decreases until the testosterone levels regain back the standardized benchmark the body already knows.

If you are injecting a lot of illegal testosterone into your body for an extended period, your LH levels will in most cases never go up, and your balls start withering away from dormancy and inactivity.

PROSTATE ENLARGEMENT

The enlargement of the prostate called “Prostatitis” can happen when the walnut-sized gland, which is located just below the bladder and that is responsible for supplying that milky white fluid to the semen.

The urethra, which is the hose that links the bladder to the penis, runs right through the center of the prostate–this is a temporarily beautiful location until the prostate gets more massive, which can cause a throbbing disturbance to the urethra and reduce the flow of urine—creating problems that range from an annoying discomfort to excruciating pain. You could stand for an hour waiting to take a piss when you have prostatitis.

SKIN PROBLEMS

Acne is common with lousy steroid use. Every person differs slightly. With women, the pores become more substantial and are more noticeable because women tend to have smoother skin. If you have pre-existing acne, you’ll most likely advance the acne.

STRETCH MARKS

These are pretty self-explanatory here. You get stretch marks from the fast growth of the muscle, whereby the skin does not have enough time to acclimatize and stretch. Which invariably leads to the scaring of tissue, thereby creating a visible stretch mark. The most common places to find these marks are on the chest or the butts.

IN CONCLUSION

With everything we have talked about, it is precisely clear that you should stay far away from the use of illegal steroids as the results, as explained above can even lead to a deformity that may or may not be easy to reverse engineer.
