Six-month-old baby boy dies after drowning in a Sydney home – as a woman is arrested at the scene

- Paramedics arrived to find a six-month-old baby unconscious and unresponsive
- The little boy was given CPR and rushed to hospital but could not be revived
- A woman was arrested at the scene and is helping police with their inquiries
A six-month-old baby boy has died after drowning at a home in Sydney’s south-west.
Emergency services were called about 4pm on Thursday to reports of a concern for welfare at a house in Seaborn Avenue, Oran Park.
Paramedics arrived to find the baby in cardiac arrest and gave him CPR at the scene.
He was rushed to Campbelltown Hospital in a critical condition but could not be revived.

It is not yet known how or where the child nearly drowned.
A woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Camden Police Station where she is currently assisting with inquiries.
Police have set up a crime scene.
Investigations into the incident continue.
