Six-year-old boy is fighting for life in a coma after hatchback driven by an 82-year-old woman crashes into him and his mother on walk to school

A six-year-old boy is in a coma after he was hit by an out of control car driven by an 82-year-old woman while walking to school.
Stacey Williams, 32, was walking her son Isaac to school in Victor Harbour, 84 kilometres south of Adelaide, when they were rundown by a car.
The accident unfolded in front of Ms Williams, who is also injured and in hospital, Seven News reported.

As the pair were walking down the busy road, an 82-year-old woman driving a hatchback collided into a stationwagon.
The out-of-control car then hit Isaac and his mother, before it drove through a fence and into a yard.
Isaac suffered serious head and chest injuries and was immediately flown to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital where he is now in a coma.

His 32-year-old mother also suffered minor injuries and was treated at Victor Harbour Hospital.
Ms Williams’ father said his daughter was devastated by the freak accident.
‘She’s quite upset at the moment, she’s on her way down to Flinders Medical Centre, that’s all I know,’ he said.
Seaview Road is one of the busiest streets in the area at school times, with many residents urging to install a stop sign at the intersection.
