Six-year-old try to summon Pennywise at school in Canada

A quirky Canadian kid and his group of friends found something a little more interesting that kickball or tag to play at recess. Instead, they try to summon killer demons.

Anne Thériault from Toronto, Ontario was a bit surprised when she heard about her son’s unique and totally creepy game, but she also found it rather amusing and decided to share it on Twitter.

She said that while the other kids are running around playground, her little boy was sitting around with friends, trying to call upon the murderous villain and title character from Stephen King’s IT.

Kids are weird sometimes: A mom from Toronto, Ontario told her Twitter followers about her son’s odd recess game

‘Today I learned that 6yo & his friends are doing some kind of dark rituals at recess to summon IT. You know, as you do,’ she wrote.

Though it’s certainly odd — like many of the things kids so — Anne’s flippant tone indicates she finds it all pretty funny.

She explained: ‘It’s like a Bloody Mary situation where they write IT in the dirt then repeat “killer clown, killer clown” over and over.’

According to her son, ‘Every time we do it something about the world changes! One time I saw a letter D in the dirt and NO ONE EVEN DREW IT.’

At first, Anne tried to put a stop to it.

‘I was like, “Please don’t do demonic rituals at school.” I can’t believe those words came out of my mouth for real,’ she said. ‘Anyway if I die, please know that it’s because my son summoned a killer demon clown at recess.’

A lead... She also joked that if she turns up dead, the investigation should turn toward her son's game

Sense of humor: She added comically that she felt 'powerless' to stop him, noting that if the cool kids are doing it, why should he?

‘But honestly I feel powerless to stop it,’ she went on. ‘I mean, who am I to tell him not to summon demons if all the cool kids are doing it? I don’t want him to be an outcast at school just because his mom won’t let him do demonic rituals to summon horrifying creatures.’

Quite a few other people seemed to find the story as funny as Anne did, and have liked, retweeted, and commented on the ‘ritual’.

Another woman even shared a photo that her own eight-year-old drew of IT, saying the kids at her school ‘use it on the playground for a game they call HORROR.’

‘If it makes you feel better, in 5th grade my friends & I were OBSESSED w Ouija Board & weird rituals to summon the dead. & I grew up ok-ish,’ someone else added.
