Roger Mitchell, Jr., a forensic pathologist for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, said in a press conference Monday that officials ‘are cleaning and reconstructing the skeletal remains of each individual.’
The process had been complicated as the remains found over the weekend were commingled.
He added: ‘There is no doubt that if we get to a place where we have either a family or an individual to do DNA comparison, I’m quite certain that we have DNA to compare with.’

William Bailey, who lives near where the remains were found, told WUSA-TV that construction workers were ‘shocked’ when they made the discovery and asked him for help in reporting the incident.
‘They didn’t know what number to call,’ Bailey said, while explaining their horror after finding a skull.
Police and forensic investigators continued to search the scene throughout Monday.
Beamon would not say whether authorities are looking for more bodies.
