Four robbers were caught on CCTV using sledgehammers to smash their way into an upmarket home in broad daylight before threatening two teenagers inside.

Footage shows the masked gang reversing a black BMW 3 Series up the driveway of the property in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands.

CCTV from the property shows the gang raiding the house at 4.30pm on February 16.

After scouting the front of the house, the gang sneak round the back where another CCTV captures one raider smashing the kitchen door with a sledgehammer.

The rest of the crooks then enter the property through the broken door.

A security camera inside the hallway shows the intruders quickly going into each room before carrying out armfuls of valuables.

Two teenagers, who were in the house at the time, were made to lie on the floor whilst the offenders demanded money and jewellery.

Having taken jewellery, the robbers then made off in a getaway car which was seen speeding towards Lichfield Road nearby 15 minutes later.

Detective Constable Nigel Box, of West Midlands Police, said: ‘This was in broad daylight at a busy time of day when many people would have been returning home from work or school.

‘I would urge anyone who might have seen the BMW or has any information to get in touch.

‘The boys in the address at the time are understandably upset and shaken but luckily they were not hurt. Help us find these individuals.’
