A weight off her shoulders! Smiling Theresa May goes to her church with husband Philip as her would-be successors furiously do battle and claim THEY can solve Brexit deadlock

A smiling Theresa May arrived at church this morning with her husband Philip – and had another encounter with a Blitz the Border Collie.

The Prime Minister, who announced on Friday that she is to that she is to quit her post in June, attended her weekly service at St Andrews church in her Maidenhead constituency as fellow Tories battle to succeed her.

Mrs May is to continue in her post while a new Conservative Party leader is chosen, but looked relaxed as she greeted a friendly dog, named Blitz and walked with her husband.
