He is famous for his love of weed and his signature line of cannabis products.

But Snoop Dogg’s years of heavy smoking could be playing games with his memory.

The rapper and media personality, 47, posted a photo to his Instagram on July 4 that purported to show him smoking pot with the late Nirvana rocker Kurt Cobain in 1992.

‘Young dogg with. Kurt 92,’ he captioned the snap which appeared to show Cobain lying on a bed laughing as Snoop Dogg sat on the floor with a spliff in his hand.

It turns out, however, that the image is a fake.

The picture was originally posted on the Vemix Instagram account which bills itself as ‘Visual Remix. Snapshots from another dimension.’

The account hosts a series of Photoshopped images showing unlikely duos together such as Steve Irwin and Chris Farley and Jimi Hendrix with Jack White.

When Vemix discovered the rapper had posted their doctored photo, they regrammed it with the caption: ‘When you make Snoop think he smoked with Kurt in 92’ followed by three ‘crying with laughter’ emojis.
