As the referee signalled it was all over, the internet took a matter of seconds in reacting to a heavyweight clash for the ages.
Tyson Fury produced his finest ever work in the ring to pick apart the ‘Bronze Bomber’ Deontay Wilder and condemn one of the world’s most ferocious punchers to his first professional defeat.
Fury sent his opponent to the canvas on numerous occasions, as fans up and down the country who stayed awake until the small hours were rewarded for their efforts. Now, fans are keen to confirm Fury as the superior being to Britain’s other heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua.

Another admirer was left comparing the bout to one of the fight of the ages, before labeling Fury the best heavyweight star on the planet.

The ‘Gypsy King’ punched the air in delight and looked overcome with emotion, all the while social media was busy rejoicing his name.
‘At 4.30am I was struggling to keep my eyes open. At 6am I’m thinking of going out and running a 10k! That. Was. Special,’ sports commentator Colin Murray wrote on Twitter.
‘Wow unbelievable from Fury! Fair play and well done Sugar Hill and Andy Lee on first class game plan,’ chimed in Eddie Hearn, who watched the bout from his ringside vantage point.
Fellow boxers could not help but marvel at Fury’s performance and his journey right back to the very top.
