Somerset widow who fell for brother-in-law snapped

A widow who started a romance with her brother-in-law after her husband was found dead on the sofa has been pictured in a series of intimate snaps with another man.

Mother-of-three Ashlee Murrell, 33, had a furious row with partner Mikey over his long working hours and banished him to a night on the couch.

But when Mrs Murrell, of Wellington, Somerset, woke up the next morning she found her 36-year-old husband dead.

Just months after becoming a widow, Mrs Murrell started a relationship with her brother-in-law Chris after he helped her cope with her grief.

She even went as going as far as changing her Facebook status to say they were in a relationship.

She claimed they had ‘fallen in love’ just six weeks after Mikey’s death, saying ‘haters are gonna hate’.

The pair soon denied it, claiming they had been pretending to be in a relationship for the sake of Ashlee and Mikey’s children.

Now Mrs Murrell, who initially denied dating her husband’s brother, has been pictured with tattooist Jamie Burrows – but claims he has a girlfriend and the pair are just good friends, reports The Sun.

She said: ‘How do people know about Jamie? He’s my friend, he’s my brother’s friend.

‘He has got a girlfriend. This is going to cause loads of trouble. He’s just a friend. I’m definitely not in a relationship with Jamie.

‘There’s nothing on my Facebook. I’ve have only ever posted one photo of me and Jamie on a night out with a group of people.’

Mrs Murrell has since deleted her Facebook profile and when Mr Burrows was contacted for comment he denied knowing her.

Mrs Murrell hit the headlines when it emerged her husband, who worked as a carpet cleaner, had been working extra hours before he died to save money to take her to Prague for their anniversary on July 3.

Mrs Murrell said the post-mortem revealed Mikey had choked in his sleep on May 16 but the cause behind it was ‘inconclusive’.

Paying tribute to her husband after his death, Mrs Murrell said: ‘Mikey was so caring, if he walked into a room and saw someone unhappy he would be the first person there trying to cheer them up.

‘He absolutely loved his family. He wanted his kids to have all the things in life that he didn’t and he worked so hard to make that happen.

‘He would work 16-hour shifts, seven days a week just so he could save up enough to take us all to Disney every year. He was so worn out but he would do anything just to see us smile.

‘But the hours he was working were just getting too much. He was so exhausted all the time and he was running himself into the ground and his health was going downhill fast.

‘When he came home that night he was a mess, I have never seen him so exhausted. I couldn’t stand seeing him like that and I got angry. I was sick of it.

‘I had a go at him and told him to sleep on the sofa which was stupid because I really just wanted him around more.’
