Son, 46, is arrested after his mother and father were stabbed to death at their family home – as police describe bloody crime scene as ‘very traumatic’

A man has been arrested after his parents were killed in their Sydney home.

The man called police to the home in Tudar Road, in Sutherland, at around 8am on Tuesday threatening self-harm.

Police arrived at the house to find the parents dead from stab wounds.

The mother was 71 and the father was 75. 

A 46-year-old man has been arrested after two people – believed to be his parents – were found in a south Sydney home

One body was found in the lounge and another in a bedroom.

The son, 46, was arrested and is expected to be charged.

He was placed under police guard in hospital where he was treated for cuts and bruises. 

Detective Superintendent Jason Box said the scene was ‘very traumatic’.

‘Walking in and seeing that scenario was quite confronting,’ he said.

Neighbours told 9News they believed the man was living with his parents.
