What could be worse than holding a heavily promoted book launch where only ’15 fans’ show up?
Married At First Sight’s Tracey Jewel learned the answer on Tuesday night, when her advertised special guest Sonia Kruger failed to show up to the event.
Worse still: according to News Corp, the Today Extra host left ‘read receipts’ on her iPhone, so Tracey knew her desperate ‘where are you’ texts were being seen, then ignored.

The publication spoke to the reality star at the event – they had no trouble spotting her among the handful of people who showed up to Vaucluse House event.
Tracey made it even easier to find her, sporting a velvet dress, bright pink cap and a really big frown.
‘She messaged me two days ago saying she was coming!’ the author reportedly said, frantically staring down at her notification-less phone.
Sonia was said to be a big draw-card attraction to the event and her attendance was promised in a Press Release.

Tracey continued, still staring at the little grey text on her and Sonia’s message thread that let her know the TV star had apparently seen the messages but not found time to reply.

Ever the glass-is-half-full-but-this-book-launch-isn’t type of girl, the MAFS star concluded: ‘Oh well, FOMO!’
The publication suggested Sonia probably didn’t have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) after a Nine spokesperson subsequently told them Sonia never received a formal invite, nor had she seen or approved a press release.
It appears at most, there was a mix-up, but Channel Nine insisted Sonia was never asked to help launch the book.
