Sophie Guidolin’s son, 15, denies Snapchat posts about estrangement, being homeless

The 15-year-old son of influencer Sophie Guidolin has revealed his Snapchat account was hacked by a troll who shared false and malicious gossip about his mother.

A post purporting to be from Kai Guidolin’s account was widely shared on a gossip forum this week. In it, the account responded to a question from one of his followers about why he had recently spent several months living apart from his mother.

Gold Coast-based Sophie, 34, has acknowledged her son spent time living with her parents in South Australia while their family was going though ‘a hard time’ – including her giving birth to a stillborn daughter and splitting from her husband Dr Andrew Firgaira after just four months of marriage.

The post on Kai’s Snapchat read: ‘Long story short, she married a guy I hated… [I] had two options: streets or rehab in Northern Territory.

‘Was homeless for one to two months [and] heading down [the] wrong path. Chose to move to Streaky for [a] fresh start.’

The post was likely referring to Streaky Bay, a coastal town on the western side of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, where Sophie’s parents live.

The post concluded: ‘My mum and I have reconnect[ed] and we are in a good place.’

After Daily Mail Australia contacted Sophie’s representatives for comment on Monday, her manager directed us to a post Kai shared on Instagram last week in which he clarified his Snapchat had been hacked.

He said it was an ‘old’ profile he no longer used that had been hacked by someone ‘making up rumours’ and ‘saying all my personal stuff’.

‘To everyone saying this is me, it’s my old account that got hacked on Snapchat and saying all my personal stuff on my Instagram [and] making up rumours,’ Kai said.

‘We were perfectly fine as I was actually living with my grandparents,’ he added.

‘I’m sick of Instagram and trolls taking stuff out on my mum. She has done nothing wrong.’

It comes two weeks after Sophie’s husband Dr Andrew Firgaira, who was briefly Kai’s stepfather, confirmed the couple’s split just four months after their dream wedding.

The dentist said he was ‘not willing’ to discuss the reasons for the break-up, which came after Sophie gave birth to a stillborn baby while he was on holiday in Europe with his daughters from a previous relationship.

‘In order to remove the constant speculation I’ll answer this once by saying we are no longer together,’ he wrote in a comment on his own Instagram post.

‘I have my reasons why and I’m not prepared to discuss this matter any further.’

He stressed he ‘wants people to refrain’ from commenting on the relationship as ‘nothing positive can come from discussing it further’.

Days later, Sophie claimed on Instagram that – contrary to rumours doing the rounds online – she was the one who ‘left’ her husband, not the other way around.

She opened up about her marriage on her 34th birthday, after posting a gallery of photos with her son Kai, with whom she had recently reunited after he spent several months living with her parents while they went though ‘a hard time in our lives’.

Sophie said being back with Kai, who had reportedly not attended her wedding to Dr Firgaira, was ‘the silver lining’ after a nightmare year.

‘Gratitude times a million to have you back in my arms. I will do everything in my power to never let anyone or anything ever come between our bond,’ she wrote.

‘Thirty-three… Nothing on earth could have prepared me for the year that was. Here’s to redoing 33 #family #love #Kai.’

Photos of the pair at their wedding were deleted, as well as their engagement post and a photo announcing Sophie’s pregnancy over Christmas last year.

Rumours about the couple’s marriage had been swirling for months, after fans noticed the model had stopped posting photos of Dr Firgaira on social media.

Last month, Guidolin added more fuel to the fire by uploading a cryptic Instagram post hinting at heartbreak.

She said she was going through a ‘rough patch’ and stressed the importance of ‘human connection’ despite her desire to ‘recharge her batteries alone’.

She then alluded to her need for ‘closure’ after a difficult time, writing: ‘Forgiveness is key, but some things are unforgivable and closure is the choice.’

Sophie announced her engagement to Dr Firgaira in June 2022, just over two years after splitting from Married At First Sight star Jake Edwards in May 2020.

Sophie, who has four children from a previous relationship, encountered serious health problems during her fifth pregnancy.

In January, she told fans she had been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, a severe form of morning sickness.

While recovering from the condition in hospital, Sophie shared a post complaining about how lonely she felt without Dr Firgaira by her side.

When quizzed by fans where her husband was, she said he was overseas on a long-promised European holiday with his two daughters.

Sophie announced in late January her fifth child, and first with Dr Firgaira, a girl named Pixie, was stillborn.

‘I cannot begin to articulate my pain, grief and despair through my entire soul,’ she wrote in an emotional Instagram post, revealing she underwent a C-section.

‘I am trying to trust in God’s timing and I have always believed that the universe has my back and no matter how confusing this all feels, I am trying to make sense of this grief with my faith.

‘I feel so guilty for my thoughts prior and I would do anything to have that pain, over this harrowing experience. I don’t even have the words on how to write or how to comprehend this. Maybe some souls were always meant to be angels.’
