Sophie Monk addresses a BIZARRE Love Island conspiracy theory

Since its premiere on Sunday night, Love Island has been suffering from dismal ratings . 

And now the raunchy reality show is reportedly the subject of a conspiracy theory.

According to series host, Sophie Monk, some viewers believe the series isn’t being filmed live.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Sophie stated: ‘There’s a few people saying they don’t believe it’s live voting, but I don’t believe I’ve ever lied in my life!’

She added! ‘I swear to God it’s live voting right now. So vote!’

The bubbly blonde then brandished her smart phone, directing followers to log on to the Love Island app.

Fans will be able to have their say on a number of different facets of the show – voting to evict or save cast members, and voting on which competitors will be rewarded with treats.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Sophie also insisted that Love Island is set to get more dramatic.  

‘The drama is insanity! I’m going mental. Poor girls! That’s all I can say!’ she teased.

It’s not the first time Sophie has talked up the reality show, last week promising it would be the steamiest series on Australian TV.

‘[It’s] a really sexy version of Big Brother without [any] body fat,’ the blonde beauty told   Triple M’s Jane Kennedy and Mick Molloy radio show.  

However, despite all the overtly racy promotions, it appears that sex isn’t selling for Love Island. 

Tuesday night’s episode drew in a paltry 138,000 viewers on 9Go! – coming in as the 70th most watched program of the day.
