Sophie Monk not impressed with singing Stu’s birthday gift

Sophie Monk wasn’t impressed with Stu Laundy’s belated birthday gift.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the beloved millionaire showcased his singing ‘ability,’ serenading the Bachelorette with a bit of Pete Murray’s ‘Opportunity.’

When Daily Mail Australia asked Stu if his girlfriend liked the heartfelt performance, he proved to be his own toughest critic, replying: ‘Wouldn’t have thought so!’

Not impressed! Sophie Monk wasn’t impressed with Stu Laundy’s belated birthday gift, which took the form of a hearty vocal rendition of Pete Murray’s Opportunity

A close second in the ‘it’s a no from me’ camp was Sophie, with Stu revealing: ‘She actually said “don’t quit your day job.”‘

But perhaps that was the publican’s modesty at play again, given the fact Sophie was heard saying ‘that’s beautiful,’ during the video, which was filmed inside a restaurant.

Further suggesting she may have had a soft spot for the cringe-tastic but genuinely sweet moment, Stu noted: ‘And she kept taking [filming] the video.’

That’s true, as Stu’s quietly crooned ‘Hold on now your exit’s here it’s waiting just for you,’ maxed-out Instagram’s length limit.

It’s also possible Sophie simply let the guitar-accompanied song go overtime for the sheer entertainment factor, the beauty joking at one point: ‘He thinks he’s nailing it!’

His modesty certainly gave way to dreams of rock super-stardom towards the end, heard yelling: ‘I think I’ll get a career out of this!’

In order to get clarity on Stu’s tongue-in-cheek proposal for a late career change, Daily Mail Australia asked if he’d ever consider auditioning for The Voice.

Stu scoffed at the idea, replying: ‘[More like] Judge I would’ve thought!’

Daily Mail Australia naturally followed-up by asking which out of the four current judges he’d like to replace.

But whether he wanted to keep his red-chair-spinning aspirations quiet, or simply wasn’t familiar with the cast, he replied: ‘Absolutely no idea!’

For now, Delta Goodrem, Joe Jonas, Boy George and Kelly Rowland will have to remain on notice, because Stu Laundy’s coming, and he doesn’t lose.

Jarrod Woodgate can certainly attest to that.
