Sophie Monk reveals the saucy rules behind Love Island

Sophie Monk is set to host the Australian version of UK’s reality series Love Island.

And on Friday’s Nova Fitzy & Wippa radio show, the 38-year-old revealed the structure behind the program, that’s described as ‘Big Brother meets a lot of sex’.

The blonde bombshell told the co-hosts that ‘ridiculously hot’ couples engage in bed hopping as they compete for prize money.

Sophie admitted that producers have cast only the most attractive singles, telling Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli: ‘They’re all super ridiculously hot. We’re not apologising about that. You’ve got to be hot.’

Filmed over six weeks in a stunning villa in Majorca, Spain, the former Bachelorette went on to reveal the structure behind the show.

‘You couple up. You have to sleep in the bed with the same guy [or girl] you couple up with, but they swap partners.’

However Sophie said that it’s rather for awkward for some when they don’t get chosen: ‘You choose [your partner]. Sometimes you don’t get chosen.’

The former Bardot songstress added that the best incentive is the prize money.

While the UK version saw 50,000 pounds being awarded to the winner, the Nine Network is yet to release the Australian amount. 

‘At the end, this is my favourite, there’s money involved. So whoever the most popular is, they either split it [the cash prize] with their partner, or they take all of the money themselves,’ Sophie said on-air.

Sophie’s hosting role comes just months after she chose millionaire pub baron Stu Laundy on the grand finale episode of 2017’s The Bachelorette.

However their romance was short-lived, with Sophie confirming their split via an Instagram post in January.
