Spacey’s brother says actor is ‘worse’ than rapist father

Kevin Spacey’s older brother believes the disgraced actor is ‘worse’ than their Nazi-supporting father who raped him 50 times when he was just 14.

Randy Fowler also accused Spacey of having a ‘very strange’ relationship with their mother, treating her ‘more like a lover’ than a parent.

The 62-year-old Rod Stewart impersonator and limo driver even confessed to once trying to kill his father, who he nicknamed The Creature, because he could no longer stand the abuse.

Randy opened up in an interview with The Sun – the first he has given since he published a memoir about growing up alongside Spacey and a childhood of abuse.

He recalled how his father, Thomas, began emotionally abusing him and whipping him from the age of six, before the sexual abuse started aged 14.

‘He would push me up against the wall and sodomize me,’ he said.

‘My mother would be banging on the door saying “What’s going on in there?”

‘And he’d have his hand on my neck telling me to shut up and she’d just walk away.’

After a year of abuse, during which he says he was raped more than once a week, Randy says he reached his limit.

One day while his father was hollering at him he ran and hid in the bottom of his closet, and found himself sitting next to a brown box with a Luger pistol in it.

As his father searched the house for him he worked out how to load it, and then waited with the loaded gun ready to shoot his father if he opened the door.

‘I’m not sure if I would have stopped at my father. Maybe my mother too,’ he says. But Thomas never found him.

Recalling Spacey’s relationship with his mother, Randy says she used to drape herself around him ‘like a cheap suit’, calling it ‘disturbing’.

He believes their ‘weird’ relationship was to blame for Spacey refusing to buy him a plane ticket to go and see her as her health declined.

Spacey did eventually pay, he says, but only after she had slipped into a coma from which she would not wake, robbing him of the ability to reconcile.

As the pair sat with her in her hospital room, Spacey made sure to put himself between Randy and her bed, he claims.

But despite years of horrifying abuse from Thomas, Randy believes that his brother is ‘worse’ because his wealth and power gave him influence, which he abused.

Randy added that, for years, he believed he had protected Spacey from the abuse by shouldering the burden himself, but now he is not so sure.

‘Seeing as though he never speaks to me I’ll probably never know,’ Randy added.

Spacey has been accused of multiple acts of sexual harassment and abuse by men, some of whom were in their teens when the claim the abuse took place.

Representatives for Spacey have not previously returned calls for comment.
