The Spanish royal family’s official Christmas card has been shared online to mark the annual Christian celebration.
For the first time in five years, King Felipe, 52, and Queen Letizia, 48, have opted not to appear alongside their daughters in the festive handout.

The royal family member’s each signed their titles in the card, underneath a message offering hope for the future
The card features a timely message penned in Spanish and English, which reads: ‘May this Christmas bring us a specially hopeful New Year 2021’.
Each member of the royal family signed their titles underneath the message to give the card a personal touch.
In the photo, identical-looking sisters Leonor and Sofía are both dressed casually, with their hair swept back in high ponytails and with an absence of face masks.
Leonor, 15, showcases her seasonal style in a high-neck cream jumper paired with a black body warmer, meanwhile Sofia dons a check coat and beige knitwear.

The area was honoured as the 2020 Best Asturian Village, the day after the ‘Princesa de Asturias’ Awards.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia have previously alternated family portraits and photographs of just their two daughters for their annual Christmas cards, however this year is the first time since 2015 that Leonor and Sofía have appeared alone.
The foursome were last photographed together at the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Princess of Girona Foundation.

King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofía also released their annual Christmas card, choosing a handout with a painting by Juan Correa de Vivar from the Museum of Prado instead of a photograph.
It is expected more royals will begin distributing their festive cards within the next few days.
