Squid Game actor Park Hae Soo has first child with his wife amid rave reviews for the hit Netflix show


Actor Park Hae Soo welcomed his first child into the world last week. 

The Squid Game star, 39, and his wife had a baby boy on September 29. Hae Soo’s agency, BH Entertainment, announced that both his wife and their new baby were in good health following the delivery. 

In a global press interview, the actor talked about his family and the general public’s kind wishes.

‘I’m so thankful that so many people around the world are congratulating me on the birth of my son,’ the Prison Playbook actor said. 

‘I let my wife know before the interview today that the news was being released today, so she should expect to hear from a lot of people soon,’ he added. 

The birth of his son isn’t the only good news for the actor though. Squid Game, the series on Netflix that stars the actor, is very popular right now.

The show has an a 96% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and an 8.3 on IMDb.

It became the most popular show in the United States just four days after it premiered. The show is expected to be watched by more than 80 million people in its first 28 days according to estimates by Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos. 

The show is so popular in South Korea that an internet provider is suing Netflix to pay for the extra bandwidth needed for the massive audience to stream it.   

The show centers around a group of desperate contestants who compete in children’s games for cash.

The streaming service spent hundreds of millions of dollars in South Korea along to create dozens of movies and television series to meet its streaming demand.
